Welcome to riverside cemetery
Riverside Cemetery was established on a tract of land donated by Walter and Thomas Monteith near the west end of Walter Monteith's land. It was originally used by public consent and was formally deeded for cemetery purposes in the 1860s.
The first burial of record is George W. Hughes, son of George and Sarah Hughes, November 12, 1847.
The current cemetery is comprised of four adjacent cemeteries that were combined and platted in 1937: Albany Cemetery (Section A), Riverside Cemetery (Section B), City Cemetery (Section C), and Parkview Addition (Section D). There are over 6,000 graves within its 9.5 acres.
If you are looking for a grave, please search our directory and download a map of the cemetery.
